Vehicle Description

1933 CHRYSLER ROYAL 8 CONVERTIBLE COUPE

This came out of an estate.  The Royal 8 in 1933 had interesting changes including sweeping fenders, "suicide" doors, sloping duel V-type fold-out windshields, opening hood vents and 6 wire wheels, which only came on the convertible.

The 8 cylinder motor starts easily and runs quietly with no exhaust smoke.  The transmission shifts well without bearing noise.  These came from the factory with hydraulic brakes and they have just been replaced. The lights work properly, including the speedometer and instruments.  The gas gauge does not work.

This was painted probably 40 or 50 years ago in lacquer.  The paint has a great shine but has been touched up.

It has the "Look" but it will be at the new owners discretion to paint this.  This has no rust anywhere.  It retains the original yellow on the underside floor metal.  This has always been kept away from moisture.  The doors and rumble seat fit and shut well, with very straight body panels and non-repaired fenders.  There are no signs of any accidents.

The interior and rumble seat are rust red leather.  The door and kick panels are original.  The glass is in good condition.  The roll-up windows function well.  The top is okay with 2 separations, one on each side at the top of the roll-up window.  Each about 1".  It has the convertible top boot which fits well and may be original.

This will do well in car shows and great for touring.
