1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe 'Series KA' 2 Door Convertible Coupe with it's reliable and virtually bullet-proof six cylinder engine with a manual synchromesh 3 speed transmission!All Chevy's from 1932 forward had boasted the long-lived and reliable 'Blue Flame' six engine and amongst its available models the longer wheel base versions of the 'Master' line, known as the 'Deluxe' versions were the most desirable.
This was a classic prewar Chevy and well proportioned and solidly built.
The top-of-the-line model was known as the 'Special Deluxe' and it was a much fancier and upscale edition of the 'Master Deluxe' and which today commands the attention of serious collectors and enthusiasts everywhere.
The convertible had a full width rear seat and power operated top and a choice of different colors of upholstery and convertible tops was offered for the first time by Chevrolet.
Interiors were richly appointed in cloth fabric and with leather in the convertible with thick seat padding for extra comfort.
A two-tone woodgrained instrument panel surrounded an arched speedometer and auxiliary gauges while a clock graced the glovebox door and a chromed radio grille was positioned in the center.
New to the Chevrolet line were plastic instrument knobs.
This particular car has been beautifully restored and finished in a striking 'Light Green' color with a light brown leather interior and matching convertible soft top.
