1948 Jaguar Mark IV Drop Head Coupe
Up for your consideration is a beautiful right hand drive Jaguar Mark IV. This timeless machine is in exceptional running and operational condition. It has been upgraded to a more modern, reliable and efficient Dodge/Mitsubishi 4 cylinder gasoline engine and 5 speed transmission. Included is the original 6 cylinder motor which requires rebuilding. There are some additional original parts.
There has been considerable work done to this Jaguar inside and out. The paint is absolutely beautiful and free of any major imperfections. It shows normal to little wear. The color scheme is a classic warm cream with the doors and body panels a very light, subtle olive green that seems almost tan until the car is in the sunshine. I would give it a 9.5 out of 10. All of the chrome is free of rust and corrosion, and shines beautifully. All of the windows are in great condition and function and move freely.
The vinyl top is a 10 out of 10 and has just been re-done. Inside of this beautiful masterpiece is soft, original white leather upholstery that can seat 5. The burled walnut dash is sublime and helps one appreciate the craftsmanship of the era. The 'suicide' doors open from the front and lend another special characteristic engendered by the 1940's period. The Lucas headlights are gigantic in size and are a major part of the visual appeal.
You will enjoy 4 white wall tires and are guaranteed a smooth, noise free ride. The stunning 18 inch spoke wheels are free from any cracks or bends. Look under the vehicle and you will see a solid, straight and well cared for frame and undercarriage free from rust and corrosion. The trunk is spacious and ready for any items you may need for your travels.
