Vehicle Description

This rare '55 Sedan Delivery was built in Los Angeles and bought new in California by a gentleman who did not intend to use it as a commercial vehicle. The Delivery was never used by a Plumber, Florist or a Bakery. He bought it so he and is wife could go camping and be able to sleep "out of the elements". A move was in his future and away he went to the north part of Phoenix Arizona where it continued to be the early version of a Winnebago...let's go camping honey! The odometer currently shows 96806.1 miles. Age had now caught up with him and he parked the Sedan Delivery in the carport at his house in Phoenix.....where it sat for many years. After numerous attempts and a number of years trying to buy it he finally agreed to let it go. It is most likely the greatest original, unaltered, no rust Delivery existing today that wasn't beat to death being used as a work horse over the years. It was poorly painted many years ago and that lends to the Patina it has today. Guys are paying thousands of dollars for a paint job that looks like this paint does today.....this one all came about naturally! Still powered by a 235 cu. in. six cylinder and shifted on the column (3 on the tree). The engine is stock with the exception of having Fenton cast iron headers and dual exhaust with Glasspacs. A sound that is so sweet as it cruises down the road. Stock '55 rear end still on the original leaf springs that have sagged just enough to give it a cool look. A single coil cut from the front coil springs puts everything in prospective. Original drums brakes at all four corners.  The Delivery rides on restored 14" American 5 spokes in the front shod with radials, 15" restored 5 spokes in the rear also wrapped in Radials for a smooth ride.  Sedan Deliveries came with just one bucket seat from the factory, this one has the correct matching bucket seat that could be ordered when new. The upholstery was redone a while ago but still presents well. The paint on the dash is original as is the paint on the garnish mouldings. The load floor plywood in the rear is all original. Radio delete and cigarette delete. Small heater and electric wipers are the only options. One sun visor as well, just the way it came from the factory. All the glass is good. It still has the original Guide 12V sealed beam headlights!   Runs and drives well, runs cool, no real issues that need to be addressed.
