Mechanical

In 1955, Packard supplied its 320 cubic inch OHV V-8 to American

Motors for use in Nash and Hudson cars and that is what is in ours

and looks original as does all the other parts and that engine

compartment.

It has the black factory air cleaner on a Carter two-barrel

carburetor and ha a compression ratio of 7.8:1 which allowed the

engine to be rated by the manufacturer at 208 horsepower when

new.

It has the red painted engine block, heads, intake and the valve

covers which wear Nash Ambassador logos, air conditioning, and the

engine in this Super is said to be original to the car and to have

been rebuilt under previous ownership.

Packards Ultramatic two-speed automatic transmission shifts

normally and moves the power to the yellow painted steel wheels

with chrome Nash hubcaps and wide whitewall tires.

Interior

Also according to the seller, the interior of this Nash is

original. The seats are enclosed in the plastic seat covers

reminiscent of the days and show no wear and they have matching

rear seat, door panels, opulent green painted dash with a

compliment of the factory gauges, black two-ring steering wheel,

showing a tad over 59k miles, nice stainless trim on the dash,

column mounted automatic shifter, clock and radio.

Even the trunk looks as new with the trunk mat and the underside of

the trunk lid too.

Exterior

Our 1955 has a tri-color exterior paint job in yellow, with black

sides, and a white top in very good condition and it looks stunning

and as it should for opulent cars in those days.

The chrome appears to be complete and good condition and our Super

is equipped with a Continental kit painted in yellow and black too

with even the 5th hubcap.

It has nice trim on the vent wings, great front and rear chrome

bumpers, twin chrome mirrors, V8 logos on the rear fenders and

Ambassador Super chrome emblems on the front fenders so it lets

people know how special this Nash is when they see it.
