This 1957 GMC is a 3/4-ton, 150-series long-bed pickup that was acquired by the seller in 2019 as a project and has since been refurbished. Work is said to have included a repaint in red, a refresh of the interior and brakes, a replacement wiring harness, and an overhaul and overbore of the 270ci inline-six. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a NAPCO dual-range transfer case, and additional equipment includes a Spicer PTO, a Ramsay winch, a wood-slat bed floor, a heater, locking front hubs, twin fuel tanks, 17.5″ steel wheels, and a wrap-around rear bumper.
The body has been repainted red with a white grille and bumpers under current ownership. Details include a stained pine wood bed floor, an 8k-pound Ramsay winch run off a Spicer PTO box, a trailer hitch ball mount, dual fuel tanks, and chrome trailer mirrors. Rust is noted on the inner and outer cab corners per the seller. A spare hood is included in the sale, along with two spare PTO boxes.
Black powder coated 17.5″ steel wheels wear white hubcaps and 8×17.5″ 215/85 tires installed during current ownership. A spare is mounted under the bed and a second is located behind the cab. The truck is equipped with a NAPCO 4×4 conversion consisting of a Spicer T23 transfer case, a NAPCO front axle, and Selectro locking front hubs. The shocks were reportedly replaced under current ownership, and the drum brakes received replacement shoes, drums, springs and related hardware per the seller. A spare brake master cylinder and a set of wheels wearing Cooper tires accompany the vehicle.
The cabin features a bench seat with a gray cloth and vinyl cover. Interior details include black rubber floor coverings, a gun rack, a heater, crank windows, and a locking glovebox. The air flapper vents and heater switches were replaced by the seller.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 100-mph speedometer with inset readouts for coolant temperature, amperage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 92k miles, approximately 500 of which were added by the seller, though total mileage is unknown. The fuel gauge reads the level of only one of the two fuel tanks per the seller.
The 270ci inline-six was reportedly bored .060″ over and overhauled with a refreshed cylinder head, a rebuilt Zenith carburetor and oil pump, and a replacement camshaft, pistons, rings, and crankshaft bearings. The radiator has been flushed, and additional work is said to have included replacement of the following components:
Wiring harness
Water pump
Exhaust system and muffler
Heater core, heater lines, and blower motor
