1960 Chevrolet Corvette Custom
This is a custom Corvette 1960 with the added feature of a 1961 rear end duck tail. I always loved the look of the grill on a 1960 but the tail of a 1962.
This aground up restoration finished in 2018 with 450 miles. I was going to place itin Kissimmee last year but could not make the event. The virus put a stop to selling this spring. It's been sitting under cover since.
This red convertible acquired in Canada, had a 283 V8 engine with a 5 speed transmission. A rebuilt 350 engine was upgraded with an Edelbrock RPM Performance Package consisting of Performer cam, heads and timing chain and RPM intake. All new accessories consisting of starter, Dewitt Radiator, Holley 750 CFM carburetor, alternator, water pump and pulleys from Billet Specialties. Doug Headers leading to a custom made exhaust complete the driver train.
The transmission was upgraded with a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed system from Silver Sport Transmission with all new components. Wilwood brakes with 12" rotors and 4 piston calipers were added front and back.
The suspension was provided by Martz IFS front suspension and four bar link suspension in the rear, mated with a Ford 9" track-loc and Moser axles.
The entire car was stripped and the fiberglass was repaired and finished with a Shark Grey Metallic modern era color (2017). The coves were painted cream. The entire interior was scraped an replaced with an entire custom interior by Al Knoch featuring new seats providing an extra 2" of room. Matching door panels completed the look. All the original chrome was sent out for re-chroming.
