1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubbletop - 4 speed, posi, solid lifters 350 hp, 348 hi performance with tri power Fabulous near perfect concours restoration of a 68,000 mile car with the original order sheet. Less than 500 miles since restoration. Photograph of write up tells its story.
This is an extremely rare and near perfect example of an early sixties muscle car. The car is completely as original except for the chrome valve covers.I Originally they were painted engine color- orange. They are restored and come with the car.
The last two photo icons in the ad look blank - they are not. One is a history of the car and the other is a copy of the original order sheet. Both tell a good part of the story about this car. The photographed history of the car document states that the Sun tach was added as part of the SS package, it was not. It was original equipment from the factory as part of the high performance package. The tach is perfect. That is glare on the lense in the picture. The signature and the date are cut off at the bottom of the picture of the original order sheet. It is on the origanal, photo not centered. The car was ordered on 12/2/60 and delivered on 1/11/61. This car was the highest performance offered at the time of its manufacture in December 60. The SS option wasn't available till Spring 61 and original examples are sparse. The SS trim on this car was added by the dealer at the owners purchase when it became available. It consisted of a few simple trim items only: trunk emblem, rear quarter emblem, chrome piece around base of shifter, and grab bar on glove box. Consoles and bucket seats came the following year.
