1962 Volkswagen dual cab pick up. I need to be clear that this is not a show car. This truck was found last spring in non running condition and it has been a summer project to get it back on the road as a reasonable looking driver. The body work and paint are fair and it seems to be in good mechanical condition at this time. The only history I know is that it was a driver until it was parked a number of years ago. Given the fact it was a driver during its 60 years, I am more than certain it has been patched and repaired probably more than once. The overall condition was not horribly bad but did have some rust and mechanical issues. The rust issues included the usual rocker, wheel arches and floors. As you can see from the pics, all have been addressed but again this was an amateur restoration. The mechanical issues included fuel system, brakes, and tune up. The vehicle has been converted to 12 volt and seems to run strong, the transmission shifts as intended and the gear reduction boxes are still on the vehicle. I believe the engine is a probably 1600 crate engine with a single 2bbl carb. but not sure when it was installed. The transmission is probably stock. The interior is in good shape and all the glass is good. A persistent health issue has slowed the progress on the vehicle so the time to sell has come. The vehicle starts and drives, seemingly well and the new brakes are solid. There is a new fuel tank and sender however the fuel gauge does not work and I believe the windshield wiper transmission is not correct. for this vehicle. The vehicle is being sold as-is.
