Changes were made to enlarge the available passenger room on the
1963 Lincoln Continental. This involved an instrument panel
redesign to allow for more knee and leg room, relocating the front
seat forward slightly to improve rear seat leg room, and designing
a new deck lid and reconfiguring the luggage compartment to hold
more luggage. Changes to the engine provided 20 additional
horsepower, and several optional items were made standard in 1963.
In line with a number of vehicles in the United States, the
electrical charging system introduced an alternator, replacing the
generator.
