Vehicle Description

The Vette’s body has straight lines and proper gaps throughout. The fiberglass prep was expertly done with the surfaces sanded to near perfection. The gaps were expertly aligned and the 2 coat red base paint was finished with a two-stage clear coat urethane creating a show quality paint job. The remaining paint still in the original cans used to paint the car also come with the Vette for any touch work required later. The hardtop was painted to the same high gloss perfection to match the body with all new rubber installed and comes with roll around hardtop storage rack and cover. All exterior chrome, headlight assemblies and stainless were removed prior to painting.

The car can be purchased with either “15" Chevy Rally Rims” or period correct America Classic Mags with Goodyear P215/70R/black wall radials. See the pictures to determine which set you like. It also comes with the original hubcaps and 15” rims as part of this auction.

The engine compartment is tidy and cleanly, lacking corrosion or distasteful componentry. The engine block is painted the correct orange.

All suspension components are in good working order, with no evidence of damage or rust, and the newly painted frame showing straight down the length of the car. There is no visible  accident damage to the frame.

A turn of the key the new high performance Proform starter fires the 327 cu. in. 300HP V8 engine up instantly, letting out an mean growl from the factory correct installed side exhaust pipe. The engine idles without issue. The brand new, Aluminum Holley Carburetor, Model 4160, 600 cfm, 4-Barrel, provides just the right amount of gas to this hot rod. The manual 4-speed transmission shifts excellent without issue. The clutch operates as it should. The engine produces proper oil pressure and holds a steady operating temperature. A brand new correct copper radiator has been installed to keep the engine at the proper operating temperature.

The new 4-wheel disc brakes and have plenty of bite, engaging smoothly with no pulling to either side. The set up uses lots new lines and hoses as well. The original master cyclinder and brake reservoir  have been retained to provide the originality appearance under the hood.

The glass is in good driver quality condition. The fuel tank is new as are most of the fuel lines. The new bumpers and grills fit the car perfectly and the doors feature new window channels, felt, weather stripping, doors handles, and refurbished window regulators.

The transmission is the original M20 4-speed with a 2.54 1st gear and still retaining its original and correctly dated 3:36 positraction differential providing clean and firm traction off the line. It’s cruises nicely at highway speeds but don’t expect great fuel mileage from this beast.

The correctly coded black leather interior 402AA is in new condition with all the correct gauges, carpet and seats. The dash, pad and door panels show some minor ware and might need to be replaced or refurbished to bring the car up to show quality. The clock and odometer do not work. All other gauges work and wipers work properly. The original AM/FM Wonder Bar radio is still operational. The completely remanufactured headlights roll up and down and operate flawlessly and line up perfectly with the body when in the closed position.
