The current owner of this 1965 Ford Thunderbird Convertible took possession as the 3rd lifetime owner in 2016 directly after it underwent a no expense spared, multi-year restoration effort with a mere 4,300 driven since restoration. During the rebuild, every aspect of this stunning vehicle was either rebuilt or replaced as needed- including the full drivetrain and all the mechanicals, the suspension and rear end, plus the body, all chrome and trim, glass, etc. The previous owner also reworked all the wiring and electronics in this vehicle to bring it up to modern standards, including modern electronics in the fully electric top that conceals under a hard boot. We have complete documentation of the work completed so there’s no guessing on this incredible convertible.
In person, this 1965 Ford Thunderbird 2 Door Convertible really stands out with flawless exterior body lines and unblemished, show quality paint. The interior is equally as exceptional with a like new appearance throughout- the chrome and bright work is exceptional while the immaculate dash is as nice as we’ve seen anywhere. Other than a few minor creases, the vinyl interior seating is also excellent in appearance. While this show car isn’t technically perfect, it comes exceedingly close in every imaginable way.
Out on the open road, this 1965 Ford Thunderbird Roadster delivers an outstanding ride quality with solid acceleration and excellent handling. The upgraded power brakes also give more than sufficient stopping power and this is one of the most enjoyable examples we’ve ever had the pleasure of test driving. This is a simply amazing classic all-around that must be seen in person to truly appreciate.
