Exterior
Our 1965 GTO has had a restoration and it shows. The styling for
1965 has Pontiacs characteristic vertically stacked quad
headlights, egg-crate grille, and fantastic trim and rubber.
The car retains nearly all of its original sheet metal with the
trunk floor replaced then refinished in 1998 with 5 coats of PPG
"Deltron" enamel base followed by 5 coats of clear. The color is a
match to the cars original GM finish, which was called "Burgundy"
by the Pontiac.
Conclusion
Considered the true original street performance muscle car, the
1965 GTO like the one we have here at Skyway Classics, remains "The
Great One" to many enthusiasts.
This car has the right stuff featuring a restoration with the
original numbers matching 389 cubic inch V-8 engine but modified
with a performance rebuild and added correct date coded Tri-Power
System, is immaculate and is the right GTO for you if you are a
very serious collector.
