Vehicle Description

This 1966 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII has been with 2 Tennessee
families in the last 50 years. A young man purchased this Healey
around 1970 when he was attending the University of Tennessee, and
he kept it until 2007 when it went to its 2nd owner.
It is a very original and unmolested car.

It runs and drives very well. The entire braking system was rebuilt
recently including a new booster, hoses and cylinders. Steering is
tight.

New stainless steel exhaust system

She is equipped with a modern 5 speed conversion from The Driven
Man. This is a new transmission and no modifications were to be
made to the car for its installation. The gear lever is in the
original position and even looks like the factory 1966 lever and
knob. The gear ratios are much better suited to the Austin Healey
engine than those of the old 4 speed. 5th gear is of course
overdrive and the gearbox is superior in every way to the original
4 speed with electric switched overdrive.

The original door panels and seats are in very good condition for
their age. It has a new correct spec carpet kit and new burled wood
instrument panel. The top is old, but very serviceable.

The paint is presentable, but it is decades old. There are several
little scratches and chips, but overall she presents well.

The original chrome is in excellent condition for its age, and the
glass is good other than some delamination in the corner of the
windshield.

The body is very good. The floors were properly replaced about 15
years ago.

Overall a very straight, solid, honest and original Austin Healey
3000. She runs and drives very well but needs a little attention to
take care of her various squeaks and rattles.
