Vehicle Description

1966 proved to be one of the most successful years for the Ford Mustang, accounting for over 607,000 Ford Mustangs rolling off the assembly lines for the model year to satisfy strong demand for the original pony car. In the same year, Ford broke the 1,000,000 Mustang production mark. Of these hundreds of thousands of Mustangs produced, only 27,809 were fastback examples. This body style has become the most sought after collectable in today’s marketplace, as it was on the fastback platform that Carroll Shelby created the legendary GT-350 Mustangs. Their street performance, competition & market success bolstered the Mustangs stature in period and this model preference has only increased as the collector Mustang market has blossomed.
The 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback on offer here is a sound & well-appointed example. Nicely refinished in it’s original Wimbledon white, it is equipped with the 225BHP, 4 barrel carb engine option, power steering, brakes and Ford’s well regarded C4, 3-speed automatic transmission. The interior is restored and has been upgraded to leather seating, and a bluetooth radio. Additional options include its original Rally Pac instruments, air conditioning, center console, and upgrades to the engine including an Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, aluminum intake manifold, and ceramic coated Tri-Y exhaust headers bestowing enhanced performance to this attractive package. Service records, film photos, and receipts going back to 1993 accompany this example and provide extensive service history through the most recent owners over the past 30 years.
