1966 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead Rare 1st year bike in excellent condition.
The value of this collectible 1st year shovel is only going in one direction and I will certainly regret the sell. This is my personal bike and has been for many years and has been and is a great bike runs like a sewing machine and a beautiful example in my opinion. I am very reluctantly listing this and am kinda testing the water’s as I really wish I could keep it forever and am kinda hoping it does not sell and I change my mind but I have a bunch of projects going on and could use the money. The photos are basically the description so view the closely. Bike overall in excellent condition the frame is one of the nicest you will ever see zero pitting on it I show a few close ups to view just how nice it is and the original numbers matching engine is absolutely beautiful. Right before I bought the bike 10 years ago the owner had Truett Osborn rebuild & balance the original bottom end. They are one of the best in the game. It’s a very clean engine with no repairs to the original cases no broken fins to mention. There is a dent on top of the rear fender, caused by a knucklehead or at least a knucklehead case in my backpack. I included a photo to show what I'm talking about. The original 1year only gas tanks are mint. Never bothered me and if you ever wanted to run a luggage seat set up would cover it up if wanted. Please view all of the photos and view them closely. As you can see it has a S&S Super E carburetor with a cool custom billet mini ham can replica air cleaner cover. Bike runs so good with the combination, Electric and Kickstart also upgraded the starter to a High Torque All Ballz starter which I always do to my shovels and really spins them up nicely if your not familiar.Runs great shiftsgreat only thing I can think to mention about it is it does have a leak I believe it’s the mainshaft and the speedometer works but it is registering a little slow. It also has 60’s Panhead Duo Glide Bubble Bags on it, not correct to the bike but I prefer them and always have. Bike has the look, everywhere I ride it she draws a crowd and always gets me there and back with smiles all the way. Value is only going up on these 66's.I have a clean clear correct title in hand in my name for the motorcycle.
