What I did to the motor. I put in a new heater core. I pulled the motor. Did a complete gasket change because the car sat in her garage for 3 years after the rebuild and the gaskets where leaking. new valve covers a Street demand 4 barrel carb electronic ignition. New wires mid length headers and a dual exhaust with Magnaflow stainless steel mufflers. Also most of the rubber and fuel parts. The trans is a 2 speed Automatic. I noticed the block had been decked when it was rebuilt so there is no way to tell if it is the original block. but I believe it is.
She told me she had the car painted the original color that is balero red. She told me the original owner told her it was kept in there garage since it was new and none of the original body parts where replaced and never saw a bit of rust.
First off what she said was just about true. All the floor boards are original and un rusted the rear quarters are original and that is amazing. from what I found the only metal part replaced was the drivers side door. It was replaced with an original door from a blue car. As far as I can tell that is it.
What I did. I had the car repainted because the paint she had done was not balero red it was off 2 shades I had a nice paint job done 4 coats of color than 4 coats of clear than color sanded and another 4 coats of clear. I had almost all of the chrome replaced I replaced almost all of the rubber. New carpet new door cards new radio one of the modern radios that looks original. The seats where in the car and look new. I replaced both door glass.
