Vehicle Description

This 1967 Ford Mustang GT500 Tribute Restomod has enough sleek metallic gray paint to make some people turn their heads in awe. After all, its done as a tribute to some legendary Shelby machines, and with a fuel-injected stroker V8 and a five-speed, it can blow them away on the street or track. Add in the upgraded suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and an A/C interior, and you have a custom coupe thats ready for both show and go. The metallic gray paint is an unmistakably modern color that wont confuse this car for anything straight from the factory, and instead, many people will be saying, "Hey Eleanor." So it gives this classic a unique and premium distinction. You can tell there was a quality investment in a professional application, and so theres an even gloss across the whole body. They also took extra time to get this bodywork correct before even the first drop of paint was laid down. That means an overall look of quality with the straight body panels, even gaps, and proper fitment of doors. Its a stunner that also has plenty of upgrades to show off the style of a performance pony. Up front, the dual billet grilles make way for a new front bumper and PIAA racing lights. And speaking of lights, this also gets a custom set of fog lights mounted in the specially built bezels. The hood pins look like they were necessary to tame this beastly bulging hood (and well tell you exactly why theyre needed a little later.) Plus theres a set of black racing stripes over on top that looks great against the gray, and they coordinate with the GT-style rocker stripe package. This GT500 tribute is all about adding modern supercar-like sleekness to a coveted classic. You see this in details, like how the custom bodykit integrates the side exhaust, theres a well-integrated rear spoiler, and the rear panel and bumper are color matched to fully surround the special Shelby-style tail lights. And those classic Halibrand-style wheels are a larger 17-inch size so that you can fit modern performance tires. The black stripes outside get you ready for the black interior. You have an awesome custom setup with high-back bucket seats with Carroll Shelbys signature embroidered in the headrest. The door cards, carpeting, and headliner all continue this dark attitude. There are even nice comfort upgrades like a retro sound AM/FM stereo w/Bluetooth, and you stay cool with the modern R134a air conditioning. Of course, this keeps you feeling good, but also ready to get you down to speedy business. Theres a full roll bar just behind the front seat, five-point harnesses, a fire extinguisher, a floor shifter, and the sports steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column to give you a good view of the upgraded AutoMeter gauge package. The engine bay is going to draw crowds all on its own. The slick gray inner fenders and firewall really funnel your attention to the hardy heart in the middle. This is a 392 cubic-inch stroker motor V8, and the tidy presentation once again showcases the level of investment in this cool custom. The V8 has been topped with an MSD electronic fuel injection system and an Edelbrock intake for the best in power and consistency. Youll also spot good supporting components like upgraded pulleys, steel braided lines, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans to help keep everything cool. It fires readily like a good FI motor should, and the dual exhaust delivers a muscular soundtrack out of the side-exit pipes. You have complete control of the power and growling soundtrack thanks to the Tremec five-speed manual transmission. It feeds a stout Currie Ford 9-inch rear end. In fact, as you look at the rear you can see a superior setup with a tubular-arm four-link and QA1 coilovers. Plus, four-wheel power disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors, power steering, and grippy ZR-rated tires are all there for good all-around control.
