Vehicle Description

This 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T convertible is always going to be
desirable for its rarity. So its especially nice to find an
example restored with such a stock style everywhere from the spare
tire kit to the numbers-matching 440 beast under the hood.

The 1968 Coronet will always have appeal because it shares the
Chargers good looks but with added rarity and luxury. In fact, the
current production figure going around the internet says this is
one of less than 530 Coronet R/T drop-tops made in 1968. So how
many do you think survived over a half-century to look this good?
This quality presentation is the result of a later rotisserie
restoration where they took the time to get the vintage details
right. The factory-correct Racing Green Metallic is dark and sleek.
The sheet metal is straight and in good shape, with doors that you
can close with confidence. All the right brightwork is in place,
including the extra wide chrome bumpers. And we love the look of
the strobe-style rear panel that was exclusive to 1968. As vintage
as this is, youll also spot some well-integrated details that add
to the attraction while not taking away from the vintage nature.
For example, the soft top is now done in leather. And the classic
Mag wheels are really 17-inch upgrades that allow you to fit better
modern tires. Plus, as a true R/T, this never hides its aggressive
nature. The power bulge in the hood, correct R/T badging, and wide
dual exhaust tips remind you that this is a true muscle machine.
And the added red tail stripes look distinct against the dark green
while also coordinating with the redline tires for a nice
thoughtful yet sporty touch.

Since the black roof looks so good against the deep green paint,
youll love to power it down and reveal the full black interior.
The door panels, dash, and carpeting have a clean dark style, and
the matching seats dont even have a button out of place. Theres
plenty of style on the bright center console, three-spoke sports
steering wheel, and extra wide dash. Its the kind of stock style
that impresses, right down to details, like the center console
floor lights that greet you when the door opens.

Open the hood, and see one of the best motors of the muscle car
era. The 440 Magnum V8 is legendary for providing power and leaving
a serious rumble in its wake. This Mopar big block is the confirmed
numbers-matching powerhouse, and it looks exceptionally honest,
right down to the correct Carter AVS four-barrel carburetor. But
more than just providing some of the best muscle car power for the
streets, the Magnum was known to be one of the easiest to live
with, too. This continues in the modern era with nice supporting
features like a Wizard Cooling radiator, electric fans, and an
Optima marine battery. The numbers-matching Torqueflite A727
three-speed is a smooth-shifting automatic transmission, and the
power steering and overall cleanliness of the undercarriage make
for a solid-driving power car experience. Plus, an upgrade to
four-wheel disc brakes means you have superior stopping power.
