Vehicle Description

A very limited production 1969 Dodge Charger 500,426cid Hemi is up for sale. This car has gone through a high level nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. It is an original factory Hemi powered car.

The Charger 500 was the beginning of the Dodge vs. Ford aerodynamic wars. They only made these cars for a few months. The Dodge Daytona winged car came shortly after, making the Charger 500 a very rare car. Only 566 Charger 500 cars were produced in late 1968 and very early 69. More importantly only 119 were equipped with the 426cid Hemi.  The majority received the base 440cid 375hp engines. These two engines were the only options available. When a Charger 500 car was ordered by a customer, that car was shipped to Creative Industries where it was fitted with flush mounted grilles, special trim mountings, a flush mounted rear window, and a shortened trunk lid all designed for exceptional aerodynamics. Hemi Charger 500's were used on the super speedways of Nascar. Few original non-raced Hemi Charger 500's exist today.
