Vehicle Description

This beautiful Santana Land Rover Series 2a is a recently completed restoration, shipped from Spain to the U.S. with very few miles on the clock. It features a rebuilt 2.25L Land Rover engine, tested to show factory compression, and operating exactly as it should. It's turning a robust rebuilt series 3 transmission, which shifts sharply and cleanly, complete with overdrive unit. It has been completely inspected and verified by Burro 4X4 in Richmond VA, and has no mechanical faults. A brand new exhaust system keeps it running quietly, and all hanging hardware was replaced. The engine is running cleanly on a Pertronix distributor and Flame Thrower coil, which eliminates the otherwise common problems with points and condensors. This ensures the ignition system will run maintenance free for years.
All brake components have been replaced and adjusted, and are working as expected. This braking system is in excellent functional condition. The car is sitting on 4 brand new Michelin mud terrain tires, with the fifth as a full size spare mounted on the hood.
The interior features a set of new Exmoor trim elephant hide seats all around, including galvanized rear bench seating. Being an early Santana, there are only a few minor differences to the British manufacture, including metric odometer and speedometer, as well as Spanish information plates, but the heart of the Land Rover marque is still present, with all of the mechanical functions exactly as one would expect from a British built Land Rover. The frame, while not galvanized, is very strong and solid, with no rust evident whatsoever, and is painted black. The body is coated in Land Rover Bronze Green, with very few minor imperfections. It features a brand new Exmoor Trim canvas top, with a new galvanized hoop set for support. All electrical components are functional, and the side marker, turn signal lights and brake lights are illuminated by rare all glass fixtures.
While being inspected at Burro 4x4, the vehicle was checked and tested inside and out, and found to be in excellent shape in every category.
Overall this is an excellent specimen of a historically significant vehicle that will operate correctly every time you get behind the wheel.
