1997 Dodge Viper GTS. The Viper Blue paint is accented nicely with twin white body stripes. This Firebird is no Trans Am, but does feature a Trans Am hood, rear spoiler, and fender heat extractors to create an aggressive appearance along with the modern driveline.
Now on to the good stuff. An L33, all aluminum, 5.3L V8 engine features a custom turbo kit with a Billet 72mm Precision turbo and front mounted intercooler. The rings were gapped for boost, and has Head studs, LS9 gaskets, Melling oil pump, Billet timing set, and custom cam. All of which is fuel injected by an 1800hp fuel system that will support E85. The current setup produces 630 rear wheel horsepower on 93 octane, and is capable of 800 rwp on better fuel. A built 4L80E automatic transmission with a Billet converter transfers the power to the Ford 9-inch rear end with 3.25 gears.
This Pontiac Firebird is a great example of a beautifully restored pony car that features its original sheet metal, but has been extensively modernized under the hood and body. The end result is incredible Turbo power, modern suspension and braking, and everyday reliability wrapped in a timeless classic package.
