Vehicle Description

If you’re looking for a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS454, this is the car for you.  This is believed to be a real-deal SS car, loaded with features like LS5 engine, cowl induction hood, power locks (not functioning), tilt steering wheel, AM/FM radio, bucket seats, TH400 automatic transmission, 12 bolt rear end, power steering, power brakes, A/C (converted to more modern coolant) and power windows.

Code 75 Cranberry Red is this car's original color and the car has been beautifully and I believe that the 3700 miles shown on the odometer are since the restoration was completed. Paint and bodywork are excellent, with a deep shine to the two stage urethane paint and great fit to all the panels. Look at that reflection in the pictures.  Proper black SS stripes were also painted, and there's a functional cowl-induction hood with locking pins for the performance look. The black vinyl top is a nice addition, working well with the black stripes are also brand new. Shiny chrome bumpers, a lot of freshly polished stainless trim, and correct badges throughout make this Chevelle look right from any angle.

If you decode the trim tag, you’ll see that this car originally came with a Saddle Tan interior, although during the restoration it was completely switched to basic black, which is always a great choice in a red Chevelle.  I believe some of the interior trim pieces (seat trim and console are still the original tan underneath black paint (see pictures and videos). The car was built in Kansas City the first week of March 1970, and NCRS records indicate the car was delivered to Riley Chevrolet in Jefferson City, MO.  This is still a family owned dealership, owned by the Riley family.  The engine block is a correct code 3963512, date code of Sept 18 1969.  Because of this date, it may not be the “born with” LS5 block, but have no way to verify that.  Intake manifold is the correct code 3955287 dated Aug 28 1969.  The Quadrajet carburetor on the car is tuned to perfection (but is not numbers matching), but we have a numbers-matching Quadrajet, that’s been fully restored by customrebuiltcarbs.com that comes with the car as a spare.   All the expected SS features are also present
