The matching-numbers 350ci L48 V8 was reportedly hot-tanked and overbored .030? by GM Performance engineers prior to installation of 10.1:1 compression pistons, hydraulic lifters, rockers and a camshaft from Howards Cams, replacement bearings and seals, as well as a new oil pump and timing components. The stock cylinder heads were also hot-tanked, given a three-angle valve job, and fitted with new springs and rockers. The stock Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor was rebuilt using Cliff's High Performance metering rods, new jets, and an ethanol-resistant accelerator pump, while the Harrison radiator was fitted with a three-row core.
