1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL
Automatic transmission
Frigiking AC
Soft Top is like new
Factory Hard Top, with rolling stand and cover.
MB-Tex interior and carpet are original to the car.
Original exterior color 903 - Blue. Paint isn't perfect, but there aren't any significant scratches or dents. Chrome is clean.
The car starts immediately with the turn of the key, drives and brakes as it should. It runs strong and doesn't smoke. It has the factory fender welds, and notches by headlamps. Car is dry, & without rust. I took it to have the shift bushing replaced ($150 fix) and asked the mechanic to go through the car and adjust valves, etc. He said to drive a couple tanks of gas through the car and bring it back, which we haven't done.
This is my wife's car, she had three 280SL's years ago, mechanic said this was the nicest of the three so she kept this one.
I have 2 early 911's and a 69 912 my dad gave me he bought new, so don't have time to drive this car myself.
It's time for someone to own the car that will drive and enjoy it. It's clean enough to enjoy as-is, or a great restoration candidate being the final year of the 280SL.
