Vehicle Description
1974 Jaguar designed and built the E-Type or XK-E
for North America, and quite literally might be one of the most
gorgeous cars of all time, even Enzo Ferrari thought so. If that is
not saying something, I am not sure about your stance. The E-Type
was based on Jaguars D-Type racing car which had won Le Mans three
years in a row beginning in 1955. In addition to it being
beautiful, it ranked in the top tier of cars by most publications.
This particular excellent "driver quality" example that I am
excited to represent comes out of long term ownership and has
remained mostly original with what I can tell one re-paint many
many years ago. Meaning, this is not a show queen with some
imperfection in the cosmetics, all original interior with some seat
tears and the tattered but all there convertible soft-top. It
appears that this car was purchased many years ago and just driven
and maintained when something was needed. No, I do not have a
British Heritage Cert, but from what I can tell the red is correct,
the drivetrain appears to be correct and most of all, this car
starts very nicely, idles quietly, the choke works, lights and
gauges work as well. Heck, it even has a 8-track player with a
Sonny and Cher 8-track still in it. I have personally driven this
car and it is truly delightful, smooth under both acceleration and
braking, the syncros in the transmission seem good and there
appears to be no rattling or clunking coming from anywhere.
