Vehicle Description

1974 PONTIAC TRANS AM SUPER DUTY

This is a Super Duty with the 455 engine that was really the last of the muscle cars. All other cars had taken a serious dip in horsepower starting in the early 70s and by 1974 there wasn’t much power left to be found. The 1974 Pontiac Trans Am Super Duty 455 was rated at 290-300 horsepower (depending on the source) and 390 lb. ft or torque! Compare that to the same year big block Corvette with 290 horsepower, and the 185 horsepower from the baddest Camaro you could buy that year. This is why the Trans Am Super Duty is a highly sought-after collectible.

It is not just raw power that makes this car an attention grabber. It also has great looks with the split grill, shaker hood scoop that proudly wears 455 SD decals, front and rear spoilers and rally wheels wrapped in raised white letter radial tires. The Buccaneer Red paint is accented with a white interior. Bucket seats, a center console and more options than you’d imagine in a muscle car make the interior a great place to be. Seat belts, the original AM/FM radio, factory A/C, power windows, power locks, power trunk release, remote mirror and even a tilt steering column await the next owner. This Trans Am retains the numbers matching 455 CID V8 engine and Turbo 400 automatic transmission it left the factory with! Most of these were beat up and blown up, but this car has been well cared for and garage kept.
