This incredible '79 F-350 Ranger XLT 4x4 was delivered new
at Slauson Ford in Independence Oregon and lived it in the pacific northwest until
March of this year. This rare (1979 was the only year for 4x4 F-350 Dentside
trucks) rig was loaded with options from the factory and received an incredibly
cool stripe package/interior upfit by Cruisaire Inc. The Marti report in the
photo gallery lists all the options. Like most of these trucks the original 400
V8 struggled to move it along, so it has had a 460 big block professional swapped
into it.
The truck is finished in its original Raven Black and mostly
original paint (only paint work is on the cowl by the antenna). The truck has
an awesome patina to it but does have some small scratches and bumps to it as
you would expect for an unrestored truck body that's43 years old. The
photos do a great job of showing the exterior condition. The Cruisaire painted
on stripes make this the ultimate 70s truck! The factory bedside toolbox is in
perfect condition. All lights works. The bumpers, chrome trim and grille shell show
very well.
The interior is in great shape! The black vinyl and Indian rug
bench seat has been redone to like new condition and is the star of the show,
its flanked by new black carpet and all original instrumentation. All gauges
and warning lights work. The dash pad and door panels are in good shape. A cowboy
hat holder, gun rack and CB radio we fit early on in life and are still there.
A Retrosound Bluetooth radio and Kicker speakers are the only “modern” touch
you’ll find.
The 1969 Lincoln Sourced 460 CI V8 engine has been rebuilt 3000
miles ago and runs/drives great it is backed by a 4 speed transmission and NP205
transfer case. The engine has L&L headers, a brand new exhaust The vintage
set of Turbine wheels have been refinished and fit with brand new Cooper
Discoverer STT Pro Tires. Brakes have been serviced and adjusted.
