This lovely project is based on the rare Pininfarina Spider. Fully sorted, the restoration work has our exclusive warranty. Final exterior and interior leather color may still be selected prior to delivery. Chassis is currently blue, but can be altered at no charge. Other original chassis and colors are available. Pininfarina version from 1983-1985 are most prized, and built in the most limited numbers. Fewer of these were made in these three model years than Ferrari or Maserati. Produced exclusively at the Pininfarina factory.

Please note that this will be a limited production Rinata model, one of only 50 to be built.

The Rinata package features optional luxury equipment, fuel injection, and the look of vintage spiders from the late 1960"s Fiat Spider 124. Fewer than ten of these special cars are built each year, and all come with a signed number plate and leather binder. Bumpers are cosmetic and do not meet contemporary 5 mph standards. We have a second rust free California chassis in automatic-- available for this project with the same delivery date if a manual transmission is not preferred. This proposed Spider Rinata includes premium paint and advanced mechanical work that is optional on lesser models. Car photographed has upgraded custom 16" Vintage Alloy wheels mounted on Pirelli P7 high performance radials. See below a description of our restoration process.

Overview

Our full cosmetic and mechanical restoration/modification process is currently being undertaken, and the end result will be simply stunning. Detailed information about what this process entails can be found on our web site, and partially itemized below. The Rinata leather upgrade package features premium leather seats and head rests, leather door panels, pulls, accents, and leather rear wings. In keeping with the original theme, choice of vintage premium German loop carpet or Wilton wool is included. The signature exterior color, with tan Ferrari grade leather is one of the most popular combinations ever offered on this model. Other color options can be screened on our web site.

Cosmetic Impressions

Every Roadster Salon car is completely disassembled prior to paint. Body lines are taught, and new metal is used to repair any imperfections. Media blasting is standard practice on all level spiders. Each car is carefully blocked and sanded to a show quality finish. Following re-assembly, they are extensively wet sanded and buffed for a mirror like finish. This color combination is ideal for warm climates. Panel fitment is better than when the car came out of the factory.

We can't say enough about our Rinata interior upgrades. All key surfaces were covered by hand with premium leather--cut from the same premium hide. No color match issues. Workmanship is to a Ferrari/Maserati standard. Bellissimo. Optional leather rear seat is available which can be added for an upcharge.

Mechanical and Driving Impressions

It is a joy to drive a fully sorted classic Italian convertible. Engine start up, and idle feels sharp and lively. Acceleration cruising and braking remind the driver of a contemporary car. All of the car's original endearing personality and character remains, but without the reliability concerns. Just tremendous fun overall.

It is hard to describe the difference between our an unmodified Spider our new Rinata version on the road. The advanced proprietary rack and pinion steering has the incredible feel of a much more contemporary car. Chassis bracing gives the Lusso a measure of structural rigidity that no other Spider possesses. Bumpy road surfaces and railroad crossing are no longer a rattle fest. The car's handling is transformed from the original version, and braking is like the best that 2015 has to offer. Simply incredible.

Please note all Icona and above Spiders have the engine and transmissions removed and fully rebuilt as part of the package. Additional horsepower is on tap for the Rinata which is built with a lightened flywheel, cold air intake, special cams, exhaust and other enhancements for an approximate 25HP improvement.
