1996 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer
Exterior
Very clean, and a good paint job covered with Pacific Green
Metallic and Light Saddle Metallic rockers and optional step built
in under rocker, on this 2-door Eddie Bauer Edition. A tan slightly
faded metal top is installed, and what many people dont realize is
this top is still removable, albeit requiring a T40 tamper proof
Torx bit. Badging and chrome is correct and in excellent condition.
We do note some rust bubbling around the rear wheel wells which is
a common occurrence on these trucks. Raised white letter knobby
265/75R15 Cooper Discoverer HT rubber is on all 4 corners and wraps
large chromed wheels with locking hubs. A swing away spare is
behind the tailgate which has a working power window.
Interior
2 overstuffed leather mocha buckets flank a large center console
with a glove box large enough to almost fit a small suitcase! A
leather rear bench which will fold down expanding the already
spacious cargo area is installed behind the buckets. The drivers
bucket has a powered lumber support and shows some wear from age
and a noticeable tear on the lower cushion. The dash setup is
standard Ford fare with mocha, black and a wood burl insert. A
factory AM/FM/CD stereo is installed along with power windows,
power mirror, and power locks are noted by their buttons in the
doors. Cruise control is on the steering wheel. Good quality
carpeting, in tan color, is covering the floor.
Drivetrain
A 5.0 Liter 302ci V8 with an automatic E40D 4-speed transmission
attached is under the OEM hood. Putting power to the ground are
3.55 axle assemblies
Undercarriage
Mostly clean some surface rust showing on the suspension
components, some of it heavy on the rear spring shackles and a few
notable spots on the flooring are also seen. Coil springs and
radius arms for the front long with leaf springs on the rear
provide the ride. Power disc and drum brakes give us stopping power
while a stock style single exhaust system sends spent fossils out
the back of this SUV. A hitch package has been installed, and it
appears heavy duty.
Drivability
I needed a short step stool to climb into this truck, a sharp mind
but terrible knees here, and I was greeted with mid 90s Ford
comfort. Performance was adequate on all fronts and all functions
were working splendidly.
