Up for an auction is collector’s quality 1 of 473 ever built Maserati GranSport Spyder that’s in concours condition with 26800 original miles, according to Maserati this color combination is 1 of 76 worldwide. This is the last true Maserati that was jointly built by Ferrari, shares the same power plant as the Ferrari F430 while using the 6 Speed sequential gearbox from a Ferrari 599GTB, the power plant originally produced 400 horsepower, however swapping the restrictive factory secondary cats with genuine Larini secondary cat bypass unleashed about 30 more horsepower, bumping both low end torque and helping the car achieve 60 mph in just 4.2 secs. The cambiocorsa transmission shifts quicker than its predecessor while preserving clutch life which is measured to be around 90 percent currently it was replaced not too long ago. Because the transmission is rear mounted , it also provides perfect weight distribution. The car is designed by Giugiaro, and carries iconic lines from Maseratis of the 50s and 60s, it was hand built in Modena, Italy, there are YouTube videos where you can see the shell of the car is being painted in the same factory as Ferraris. Also production numbers are very low, so low that there are less GranSports and 4200s combined than 360s and F430s. Already a future classic in my opinion. This is the last Maserati to have the dry sump engine with magnesium alloy intake manifold, after 2007 they started using the watered down version of this engine.
The car is all original, with original paint from bumper to bumper, whole car is paint corrected, and protected by top of the line CeramicPro 9H, that’s good for 10 years. Paint is perfect with no scratches, dings etc.
All fluids, including power steering, F1 pump, gearbox, differential, and engine oil have been freshly changed so the car is ready to be enjoyed. I only use Motul products.
The car also comes with brand new Continentals wrapped around factory brushed BBS 19” wheels, wheels show no curb damage,tires have less than 40 miles on them and carry 2 year road hazard warranty. Wheels were professionally balanced, and the car was aligned using the OEM shims. Car doesn’t pull / vibrate etc. Windshield wipers were replaced with the tires as well. Brakes / Pads have at least 90 percent life.
The interior is all wrapped in Italian leather, with genuine carbon fiber accents, steering wheel is half genuine carbon fiber as well, pedal shifters wrapped in leather as well as rest of the steering wheel. Leather is all tight everywhere. All stickies have been taken care of, StickyRX redone all parts which is a few grand job.
