Vehicle Description
2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended Cab 4x4
General Motors introduced its first pickup truck in 1930. It took
40 years of manufacturing vehicles before the term "Silverado" was
first coined. From 1975 to 1999, the term "Silverado" was used to
designate the trim for Suburbans, Chevrolet C/K pickup trucks, and
Tahoes. During that time, GMC used a few variations of the "Sierra"
name (such as High Sierra for example). Today, Chevrolet still uses
the CK and CC designations in their most current model codes. For
their entire history, GMC Sierra and the Chevrolet Silverado trucks
share the same mechanical build, though there have been slight
differences here and there. For example, there have been add-on and
trim variations that are unique to each truck.
For consignment, a big rig style Silverado from 2006 and it eats
and breathes fuel through a big 5.3 Liter V8, and a 4-speed
automatic transmission. Out of the great state of Texas, a
rust-free example bathed in Sandstone Metallic and peppered with
chrome and black vinyl working together to form the exterior add
ons like bumper trim and body colored wheel well surrounds. A
beautiful barely used bed, 4x4 capabilities, and the extra room
from that extended cab, we have arrived for work.
Exterior
Beautifully straight steel exterior panels bathed in GM Sandstone
Metallic paint, mind their gaps well for this big truck exterior. A
smattering of chrome accenting mixed with jet black textured vinyl
adorn the grille and lower bumper, meanwhile the upper bumper,
wheel well surrounds and door trimmings are finished in
bodymatching plastic. On the rear bumper the black textured plastic
takes over again, highlighting the chrome steel. Tinted glass is
throughout, and the bed is showing proundly with its factory
applied paint in excellent condition looking barely used. This tall
truck is jacked up for extra ground clearance for the 4x4 and has
shiny polished wheels on all 4 corners wrapped in Firestone radial
rubber.
Interior
Opening the nearly perfect condition with tan vinyl molded door
panels we make the climb aboard past Bose speakers and into the
front tweed broadcloth bucket seats. These are flanking a large and
in charge center console complete with storage area cup holders and
its rise the dash with more storage cubbies! Above all this
menagerie is the climate controls, and AM/FM/CD radio both with LCD
readouts. The original dash instrument panel is in front of the
driver and has the full gauge package for ultimate monitoring.
Slipping through the small suicide swinging rear 1/2 door we
arrange ourselves on to a large bench for 3 additional passengers,
in matching tweed broadcloth to the front buckets. Clean tan
carpeting floods the floors and a tan headliner is above. Plenty of
power conveniences are installed options on this truck.
Drivetrain
An 5.3 Liter V8 gasser With EFI and a 4-speed 4L60E automatic
transmission on back is under the hood. 3.42 geared axles turn the
tires on the rear and also the front when 4x4 mode is activated.
All is clean and looking good with this power plant.
