Mechanical
This Bentley has an amazing powertrain consisting of an awesome
twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 cylinder engine rated at 616
horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.
The transmission is an eight-speed automatic, and all-wheel drive
is standard. According to Bentley, launching from zero to 60 mph
consumes 4.3 seconds and redline is reached at 6250 rpm, but the
brutish W-12 unleashes much of its fury at half those revs. The
Flying Spurs peak torque of 590 lb-ft, for example, is at your
disposal at just 2000 rpm.
If you enjoy supercar acceleration in near silence, the Flying Spur
wont disappoint. Aside from the W-12s muted growl, the cabin
remains eerily quiet, even when the speedometer needle approaches
triple digits. (Top speed is 200 mph.)
Interior
The interior is trimmed as expected of a Bentley, the Flying Spurs
interior is one of the finest in the world, highlighted by
hand-fitted creame leather upholstery, lovingly polished wood trim
and supple surfaces just about everywhere else.
This interior is about as close to yachtlike opulence as youre
going to get in a luxury sedan. The vast array of leather and wood
trim adds to the sense of exclusivity.
The Flying Spurs has the 8-inch touchscreen that is crisp and
responsive and a wireless rear touchscreen remote, which allows
passengers in back to control various infotainment functions at
their discretion.
