1970 Dodge Charger RT “Special Edition” equipped with its original factory 440 Magnum engine and 727 auto transmission. The original data tag, factory build-sheet and driver’s door ID VIN tag are all intact. This stunning Mopar muscle car was a rare machine even when it was new. Dodge produced 8,574 Charger RT’s for the 1970 model year. Extreme attention to detail was taken to restore this awesome Charger to original factory assembly line specifications. Vehicle Condition

Mechanically the car runs like new which is to be expected with a completely rebuilt 440 – awesome power!  It drives down the road effortlessly and is a real joy to drive!  Bottom line–this Charger is completely restored so mechanically it is essentially likeyour back in 1970 driving a new factory assembled machine. Under-carriage is absolutely rust free and rock solid. The factory color code correct Green paint is excellent. All bright work (bumpers, wheels, etc. are perfect. Front and rear bumpers are triple chrome plated and show perfect.

Overall Originality

Pure 100% factory stock appearance - A restored car in factory condition where the equipment of the vehicle correctly match the VIN and factory “build-sheet” documentation description. The restoration process included a mix of mostly original,re-built, NOS and reproduction parts.

Production Numbers

Even back in 1970 Charger RT’s were rare vehicles with only 8,544 units produced.

Interior

Interior is in excellent condition and professionally restored and includes “Legendary” leather front seat covers per factory SE spec’s. Headliner is original pattern reproduction material and in excellent condition. All carpet in the interior compartment is new. Dash padand steering wheel are both excellent – no cracks. All interior door panels are excellent. All glass including the windshield is excellent. New windshield was installed during the restoration. Rotating headlight motors open and close perfectly.

Exterior – Body & Frame

Overall body panel fit and finish is about as perfect as it can be for a 1970 era Chrysler vehicle. There is zero rust on the sheet-metal panels and frame. The trunk floor is perfect. This is a very straight, accident history free, pristine Charger RT. The body lines and the fit and finish on this RT are near perfect.

Paint

Overall, the paint quality is excellent. Hundreds of prep hours were spent blocking and sanding prior to applying the actual paint. The paint work on this Charger is excellent.The professional paint quality is far superior to the Chrysler’s factory paint circa 1970. The car retains its original factory color code "F8" Dark Forest Green with the black leather "SE" optional interior. 

Chassis

Undercarriage and frame are perfect.Exhaust system is perfect.

Engine Compartment  

Engine and all additional components look essentially like it did back when the car was new in 1970. The 440 engine sports it’s original Carter AVS carb and dual snorkel air cleaner.
